It is truly an honor to serve as principal of Sherman Oaks Elementary Charter School. My journey in education started in 1985, when I became a first grade teacher at Toluca Lake Elementary. I spent 14 years in the classroom before assuming the role of Bilingual Coordinator, Assistant Principal in charge of Special Education and Principal. I do not view the position of principal as a job, but instead as an opportunity to lead our school to accomplish great things. The role of principal entails many exciting opportunities associated with student achievement. However, most importantly, my personal and professional goal is to provide children at SOEC with the best educational experience possible – one that will build a foundation for life-long learning.
