Welcome to Fabulous Room 5
Welcome to an amazing 5th grade year. Students will be challenged with a rigorous curriculum that includes the Eureka Math program from Great Minds and the Benchmark Advanced Language Arts program. In addition, we use the Write From the Beginning program that includes narrative writing, informative and persuasive compositions. Ms.Princi and I team teach in the areas of Mathematics and Language Arts.
The Eureka Math program gives teachers the tools to allow students to go beyond rote memorization to give students a deeper and more complete understanding of the subject area, setting up students for success in higher education, careers, and life.
Our Benchmark Language Arts program includes close reading to increase student’s inferential understanding. In Science Lab, students will be exploring the new NGSS program. This year, we will be exploring U.S. History through Westward Expansion. Through project-based learning, our students will be thoroughly engaged in every aspect of the curriculum.
