Homework Policy

Third Grade Homework Policy

The purpose of homework in third grade is to reinforce learning that has been taught in the classroom. The following are key features of homework in our grade level:

1. Homework is assigned Monday through Thursday and includes daily Reading, Math, and Language Arts.

2. As per LAUSD policy, homework should take a maximum of 30 minutes per day (This does not include Reading time)

3. Completion of three lessons per week of typing on the Computerwise Kids “Typing Tutor” program is an important skill for State testing.

4. Daily practice of multiplication facts.

5. Online Reading programs such as Lexia or Reading Plus may be part of your child’s reading practice at the discretion of the teacher.
